Making the funeral arrangements

Once the funeral service has been agreed we can start to plan the day and would suggest a meeting in order to do this. We will take you through each of the areas and agree what you want. This will enable us to organise all the details and make sure everything is in place for that final journey.

Coffins and caskets

How your loved one will be conveyed on the day. There are many different types of coffins and caskets. You can either describe what you want or we can show you examples of what is available.

Floral tributes

Always very personal and a way to reflect the deceased’s personality. It might be their favourite flower or a bespoke tribute reflecting an aspect of their life. A discussion directly with a florist is the best way to do this and we can suggest one who we use on a regular basis.

The service

This is often discussed directly with the venue officiant but we are happy to help and provide any additional assistance. The order of service, music, hymns and readings are all things to consider at this point. We will also arrange for an order of service to be designed and printed for the day, based on your preferences.

The transport

Our hearse and chauffeur will transport the deceased on the day of the funeral. We also have limousines if you want to form a cortege to take family and friends as well. If your preference is something a little different such as a horse drawn carriage, motorbike or Land Rover we can also arrange this for you.

The wake

After the funeral service it is traditional to invite friends and family to a venue for some refreshments. It’s usually somewhere local to the funeral, maybe a popular establishment for the deceased. This is a task that our customers are more than happy to arrange, but we are there if you need us.

Donations to charity

If you prefer donations to charity rather than floral tributes, we can manage this for you. We will accept and list donations on your behalf. These are then forwarded to the charity of your choice.

Announcements

For many it is important to place an announcement in the local newspaper. This informs people about the death but also provides the details of where and when the funeral will take place. If you would like, we can help you to do this.
