When a death occurs

There will be so many thoughts going through your mind when a death occurs. Clearly there is a very real emotional side to deal with, but you will also be thinking about the practicalities. This is something we can definitely support you with and guide you through the whole process.

The location of the deceased

Whether the death of your loved one has occured at home, in hospital or in a care home; you will need to obtain the Medical Certificate of Death to transfer tham into our care.

Moving the deceased into our care

The next step is of us to collect the deceased and place them into our care. Once the doctor has attended it’s really up to you how quickly this happens, we are on call 24 hours a day.

How to register a death

The registration of a death will need to take place before the funeral can happen. To avoid any unnecessary delays, it’s best to visit the Register Office in the district where the deceased died.

Certificates issued by the Registrar

The Registrar will issue you with 3 certificates that will enable you to manage the affairs of the deceased.

Consulting a solicitor

In most circumstances it is advisable to contact a solicitor. They are experienced in this field and can minimise any delays and ultimately save you money.

We will arrive within 1 hour of your phone call. Once the death has been confirmed by the doctor, we can bring your loved one back to our Chapel of Rest.
